Fundraising!!!
You might have heard that we will be travelling to Bali, Indonesia.
While researching this area we found how badly some children are treated and forced to live. We want to make a difference in some of these kid's lives.
We plan to visit and raise money for Balinese orphanages as well as volunteer to teach English in slum schools while in Indonesia. We will buy items in the local markets with the money we raise and donate our purchases to the orphanages based on their needs!
Sadly, many orphanages in Indonesia are not good places. Even sadder, many use the name Christian Orphanage, just to get money and their children are very badly treated, almost like slaves. We have a friend in Bali who works with the people who investigate this and expose it to the international press, like BBC.
Our friend recommends the following orphanages and decided to go with them.
www.balikids.org - orphanage which also accepts HIV + kids (most don't) plus have a mobile medical and dental clinic that visits ALL orphanages in Bali monthly.
www.careforkidsbali.com - Jodie O' Shea Orphanage
www.sacredchildhoods.org - this has orphanages, slum schools and works to rescue trafficked kids. Children sold into slavery in 2012!!!
We are asking for your help to raise money. It doesn't have to be a lot; in Indonesia a man can feed his whole family with $100 for the entire month! Every penny will help, that dollar in your pocket is worth more than yo can imagine. Bring in that loose change and be the difference we all want to see.
